While attending St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, Jorge Almeida began his marketing career at the Hispanic advertising agency, LatinWorks, as an account manager on brands such as Bud Light, Burger King and Mars/Wrigley. From there, he was recruited to Richards/Lerma in Dallas to work on the agency’s biggest client, The Home Depot.
After 5 years at Richards/Lerma and collaborating on accounts such as Advance Auto Parts, Ram Trucks and New Business, he switched gears and found himself at the regional office for the largest beer company in the world, Anheuser-Busch. Jorge was one of the first regional brand managers to work on local campaigns for Bud Light while also providing brand management for Budweiser, Michelob Ultra and Chelada. He also oversaw the launching of two new Mexican imports into the Texas market, Montejo and Estrella Jalisco, and consistently received internal accolades for the SXSW special packaging campaign for Bud Light.
After completing 3 years in this role, Jorge was promoted to Sr. Brand Manager (National) to lead digital and social for the flagship brand, Budweiser, out of the NYC corporate headquarters. In that role, Jorge accomplished multiple campaign launches and received coveted Sports CLIO’s and Creative Excellence awards, before deciding to move back to Texas and join the growing Avocados From Mexico digital team where he currently leads all social media and content for the brand and oversees campaigns such as Super Bowl and Cinco de Mayo.
Jorge is an avid marathon runner, keynote speaker and was recently recognized in Rise Magazine’s 2019 Edition of “Who’s Who in Digital Marketing”.
